Saturday is usually my day to go out fun-shopping or to the movies, but since I've made a week of doing just that I decided to stay home and just chill out. I started watching movies super-early in the morning and I've watched six total so far, and I'm not finished. I've ate ice cream and popcorn all day too... and just why can't everyday be like this?!?! :) |

I've been spending so much time enjoying my vintage miniatures lately. I have tons of tubs full of vintage treats that I don't have room to display and sometimes I just like to get them out and play with them, or at least set them up and treat them as eye candy. ;D |

My summer just got a whole lot yummier! Thanks to Isa, my friend in Germany, I now have a WONDERFUL, truly incredible candy stash! I am in awe and my mouth is already watering! ;D |

I'm back from an almost week-long stay in M-I-A-M-I! It was a great, fun and relaxing trip!!!
Now I have to place catch-up on my internet life. If I owe you an email look for it soon. :)
Also, all of Kitschy and Between The Buttons orders have been fulfilled and were mailed out this morning and I'm also caught up with my "personal" mail, so if you are expecting something in the snail-mail from me, it will be there soon! ^____^ |

As promised, here is the MP3s of the Barbie 45 that I found earlier this week. :)
I think that these two songs are just so much fun! The idea of theming them up era-tunes with the doll of the times is just too spiffy.
"Barbie" is just classic— a cut devoted to the girl of his dreams, and the funny thing is... I really can imagine Ken having a crooning voice like that.
"Instant Love" is a great catchy cha-cha song and thinking of it as a duet between Barbie and Ken makes it even better. Check these two 1961 ditties out.

Here is a close-up of the vintage ceramic bunny in a hut that I found yesterday on my thriftshopping trip. I love this little guy! I have to find a place on my desk for him— the back of his "hut" (which was intended to be used as a planter) is open so I can use it as a pen or paintbrush cup! :) |

I went thriftshopping today at various thrift shops and antique malls and found so many fun goodies— I was so surprised!
Here's a rundown:
♥ another one of the Better Homes Sewing books... one day I'll have the complete set
♥ 1950s apron pattern (along with the other 5 or 6 I've collected over the years, I think it's high-time I actually made an apron! heehee!)
♥ a few 1960s dress patterns (my fave is shown above)
♥ several remnants and yards of vintage fabrics and trims (the two I pictures are destined to be used for future Blythe dresses!)
♥ a few vintage cook booklets
♥ lots of vintage children's books (see next photo)
♥ a vintage ceramic bunny hut
♥ 1950s felt reindeer appliqués (I think they will be used on one of my first apron endeavors— can we say Merry Kitschmas?)
♥ small world cologne (I never can say no to them!)
♥ a Barbie Sings 45rpm record (I'm planning on making both sides into MP3s to share with you all soon!)
♥ and last but not least, another Leggy! Whoohoo!
These are some of the vintage children's books that I found today. I can't wait to look through them all— I had a few of these when I was a kiddie, they're sure to give me a warm fuzzy feeling! ;)
We also went to a great old fashioned ice cream parlor and I got the most delish raspberry chocolate ice cream. Gosh it was yummy! I wish I would have taken my camera with me today... I saw so many things that I would have liked to have photographed. ^___^ Oh well, there's always next time! |
